Here is the tree about 2 months after it was collected. I set the pot in a tub of water to help promote root growth.
This doesn’t work for very many types of trees, however pond (and Bald) cypress love it.

It’s right here. The front of the tree turned out to be facing away from the camera. As you can see it was submerged under about a foot of 40 degree water. When I finally got it free the tree only had a few fine roots left. I wasn’t sure if it was going to make it.
