One of the most basic but intimidating tasks for the beginner bonsai hobbiest is the process of trimming a Bonsai Tree. Many are fearful or removing the wrong branch, or taking off too much of the growth. In this video I go over step by step what to remove from you r tree so that you can keep it healthy, and looking great.

Hey what do you know? I finally remembered to take a picture when this tree had leaves on it. Notice how the branches are much closer to the trunk than they used to be before my new wiring. It is just a more balanced tree now, and really looking great. Mar 2007

This tree was on display at the BSF convention in Port Canaveral. However the wrong front was displayed. Oh well I can see why, the tree was planted in the pot incorrectly. As you can see the foot of the pot needs to be centered in the front, or split between two legs. July 2005

This picture really shows the structure of the tree. Very clean lines and a nice shape on top. There were suggestions made to shorten the tree or eliminate the top but I’m not sure if I like that or not yet. January 2005
