Many of the trees that I have been working on over the winter are now putting out new growth and I wanted to give you an update on the way they look now.

Of all my trees the one I am enjoying most is this crepe mrytle.  The crown of the tree from the new top I developed is looking great.  I just need a mid branch on the left side and this tree is ready to go.  However the pads looking a bit flat so this year I plan to work on the taper and overall thickness of the branches themselves.  This tree won’t be this bare  when it is completed,  Right now I am just building the skeleton structure, but it will be this year that this tree becomes a finished bonsai.

Paul, After checking a graft on one of my Tridents. I realized that it had been a bit since i’d checked on the progress of your trees. I was really excited to see how this little C.M. was coming along and boy has it. It is an amazing what you have done with this tree. You really have impressed me with this one. I can remember when you first started showing pictures of it, I really did think that you may be wasting your time but I was wrong. Great job!!
Also, thanks so much for showing grafts that you have done. It really did encourage me to go for it with my own trees and I now have the confidence to try things that I wouldn’t have done before I found your site.
    Thanks,
    Robert
