I hope that you all remember the post I did a year or two ago about the person that gave me this Bouganvillea (as pre-bonsai) named Bob.  I had a computer crash and lost all of the information I had about his full name, phone number and address.  Well as luck would have it, Bob contacted me again and I now have all his information in a safe place.  I can’t thank him enough for this tree, and that a part of his efforts are on display at Disney as well.

He called me from the Japanese Pavillion in Epcot and said, “I can’t say it enough…..simply stunning….The only words I can use to describe the Bougainvillea at Epcot… when I gave you that stump 2 years ago I knew that you had the patience and the knowledge to turn that stump into a piece of art second to none…”

I am glad that he could share in this exhibit and see how many people appreciate seeing these trees on display.  Thanks again Bob!

Well the trees are now on display at Epcot for the next 10 weeks.  The show set up went very well and we had a blast doing it.  There are plenty of pictures, but I wanted to post one of my all time favorties taken of my tree by Greg Matthews.

So the Flower and Garden Festival starts this Wednesday and I am rushing to get my tree at its best for display.  Mother Nature hasn’t been too cooperative and we had a very cold winter.  However my tree has produced tons of flowers, but it is taking a while to put out the leaves as well. I placed the tree outside my screen patio to get additional sunlight to get the leaves to fill in.

However with that issue taken care of, The Bonsai Societies of Florida Convention starts Thursday and I am to display two trees there.  The problem again are the leaves.  In this case, there aren’t really any to speak of.

I hope this peek of Spring helps many of you to get inspired to start working on your trees.  This is certainly one of my favorite times of the year.

Wow! This tree has been so wonderful to work with, and so rewarding. The past two weeks this tree has put out another batch of flowers while the rest of my collection begins to prepare for dormancy in a few months. I think it is just showing off. In any case I knew I had to get some pictures now to submit for consideration for next year’s Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. In my opionion this tree is ready and will look great on display.
