Here’s the front. Coming along very nicely. I need to do some carving on the top right third of this tree. It is a little heavy up there and looks to thick. Hopefully sometime this year I’ll get the chance.

This tree was root pruned rather hard this spring, and never slowed down. The goal was to get the tree into a very shallow pot. The reasons for this are first to make the trunk look bigger, and secondly so that I could lift the thing. The tree was wired out, and is developing very well. This summer I plan to do some carving so that the top tapers more and blends better. The photo is of the back of the tree. July 2005

This tree was on display at the BSF convention in Port Canaveral. However the wrong front was displayed. Oh well I can see why, the tree was planted in the pot incorrectly. As you can see the foot of the pot needs to be centered in the front, or split between two legs. July 2005

This tree has come into it’s own this year. Finally all the branches are on where they need to be, and it is filled in nicely. I will develop the back bottom branch a little further, and then rewire the branches this winter to get them more uniformed. However this tree is going to be ready for show next year. July 2005

The leaves have come back very fast and the grafts are nearly complete. I took the time to trim this tree up a bit. However there still are things that I want to do. The second branch on the right needs to be bent down to mimic the branch below it. Also I need to complete the back branches once the graft has taken. Lastly, this tree will be repotted this winter in to a more shallow pot and this tree will be well on it’s way to being nearly “finished”. July 2004
