Bald Cypress Bunjin Style (Purchased from Mary Madison 2002)    Orlando Bonsai Store

As purchased from nursery. Mar 17 2002.  Sitting in a container of water to help promote root growth

Initial styled Winter 2002.  Picture is May 2003.  Tokoname pot.  Tree was allowed to grow out all summer without trimming in order to develop new branches.

March 2004-  New growth has started.

This tree has been accepted to be displayed at Epcot this year at the Flower and Garden Festival starting April 16th.  Make sure that if you can, get out and see this and all the great trees this year on display during the festival.

This tree was on display at the BSF convention in Port Canaveral. However the wrong front was displayed.  Oh well I can see why, the tree was planted in the pot incorrectly.  As you can see the foot of the pot needs to be centered in the front, or split between two legs. July 2005

Okay, a few new changes.  First the tree was repotted into a smaller pot, and it has changed the balance of the tree to the pot in a very good way.  Also I felt that the foliage of the tree stood out too much like an umbrella, so I rewired the branches.  If you compare it to the tree last January you will notice more ramification and that the branches are now closer to the truck.  This should create a much more dramatic look when it buds out this spring.  Just for the record it has already begun to do that.  January 2007

The tree was allowed to grow out all of 2002 to create new branches and a new top to style.  As you can see the top had been pruned and jins were created.

Tree was rewired Jan 2004.  Tree was submitted to Disney for consideration for display at the 2004 Flower and Garden Festival

April 16th 2004,  The tree was on display at Epcot until June 6th 2004.  This picture was taken at night because there is so much greenery behind it during the day that the tree gets lost in the picture.

This picture really shows the structure of the tree.  Very clean lines and a nice shape on top.  There were suggestions made to shorten the tree or eliminate the top but I'm not sure if I like that or not yet.   January 2005

Here is a recent picture of this tree.  It was allowed to grow out some this year to gain more branching and just let it get healthy.  I will look for a smaller pot this winter. Tree was corrected in the pot.  Sept 2006

Hey what do you know?  I finally remembered to take a picture when this tree had leaves on it.  Notice how the branches are much closer to the trunk than they used to be before my new wiring.  It is just a more balanced tree now, and really looking great.  Mar 2007
